Dr. Ryan R. Ramsook is a double Board Certified Pain Management and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician.  He has extensive training in minimally invasive spine and pain procedures and continues to promote innovation and leadership in the field of Pain Medicine.  He graduated from
New York University where he performed graduate level research with leaders in the field. He then enrolled in medical school at Rutgers- New Jersey Medical School where he continued to hone his interest in research. As a resident at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, Dr. Ramsook
was trained in a multi-modal approach to treating patients.  After completion of residency he then completed two Pain Medicine fellowships; one in Interventional Pain Medicine and the other in Clinical Pain Medicine.  During this time he was able to master advanced spine and pain procedures and offer a comprehensive, team based approach to treating pain and improving function.

Dr. Ramsook’s passion for healing and putting his patients first is apparent. His philosophy of melding innovation, utilizing evidence based medication and customizing a treatment plan for each one of his patient’s has earned his plaudits amongst his patients and colleagues alike.  First receiving recognition as a New York Times Rising Star in 2018, Dr. Ramsook continues to be active in the academic community where he is frequently invited to attend and lecture at conferences across the globe.  He continues to grow his passion for research and has had numerous articles, reports and text book chapters published in leading journals.

Dr. Ramsook is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at both Florida State University College of Medicine as well as Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. He enjoys teaching and continues to be passionate about research and mentorship. He also frequently lectures to medical students, residents, physicians in training as well as to the surrounding communities.

Born in Trinidad, Dr. Ramsook remains with a unique passion for serving underprivileged and overlooked populations in America and abroad.  His top-down approach to treating his patients and his strong belief in patient advocacy continues to allow him to put his patients first.  Working closely with collaborating and referring physicians Dr. Ramsook aims to avoid or potentially delay surgery if possible as well as to facilitate in making unavoidable surgery more precise.

Osteopathic Medicine 

Dr. Morgan Thorn is a Board Certified Physician that completed her Undergraduate degree at Nova Southeastern University and then medical school at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM). She then completed her residency at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, AL. 

 

Trained under the tutelage of Dr. Ramsook, Dr. Thorn, is passionate about improving patient quality of life by designing individualized treatment plans that integrate medical management, interventional procedures, physical/occupational therapies, along with patient education. Emphasizing a holistic view of pain care, Dr. Thorn recognizes the physical, emotional, and psychological factors that influence each patients' experience.

Dr. Thorn is eager to help those in need by returning to them a functional and high quality life. She is excited to be a part of the USP team to help deliver the same patient centered care that has set USP apart from all the others!

Dr. Kody Johnson, D.C., DIBE, is a Pensacola native.  His fondest memories growing up were spent here in town at places like Hopkin’s House, Milton Bakery, and Bayview Park. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2020 and has been serving the Pensacola area since. He obtained board certification in electrodiagnostic medicine in 2022. One of the greatest lessons he learned in life was with his father following the clean up of Hurricane Ivan in 2004. There is no greater purpose in life than helping and loving others. 

 

Clinically, his true passions are electrodiagnostic medicine and research-based chiropractic care. The bulk of research behind chiropractic care is what got him into the field of Chiropractic, and he enjoys using that same research to treat his patients in a relaxed and welcoming manner. 

 

He is an aspiring fantasy writer who has authored several novels, which are available on Amazon! His hobbies include high-end coffee, Dungeons & Dragons, and spending time with his friends and family.

Matthew’s fascination with the medical field began when he worked as a lifeguard on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Years later he pursued that love by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services at the University of South Alabama. While there he was active in the education of fellow EMS students as both a mentor and as an ACLS and BLS instructor. While he was obtaining his bachelor's degree he also worked in pre-hospital emergency medicine as a paramedic in Mobile, Alabama for several years. 

 

Matthew then completed his Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. After graduating in 2013, he first practiced in family medicine and with the geriatric population in short and long term health facilities. Following this he found his true passion in the medical field in the area of Pain Management, which he has worked in for several years. He is a member of the AAPA and American Society of Pain and Neuroscience. 

 

Matthew does focus on staying up-to-date with current topics, research, and new advancements in Pain Management. He enjoys caring for patients by helping them live actively with chronic pain as he is very active himself.

 

He, his wife, and daughter Paisley enjoying biking, hiking, fishing, boating, and surfing. He also loves to participate in as many fishing tournaments as he can.

ALIYA LUNDY, PA-C

Aliya is originally from Montgomery, Alabama but moved to Baldwin County in 2019. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of West Alabama. While at UWA,
she participated in Division 2 collegiate soccer where her love for medicine began while working
with her athletic trainers.

 

After graduating in 2021 magna cum laude, she was accepted into South Alabama’s Physician Assistant Program where her skills as a provider were strengthened through rigorous didactics and clinical training. During Aliya’s clinical year, she gained experience spanning primary care, internal medicine, orthopaedics, and emergency medicine which provided her with skills in high quality patient care.


Aliya is excited to join United Spine and Pain under Dr. Ramsook’s and Dr. Thorn’s tactful
guidance. She is committed to providing evidence-based healthcare with an emphasis on
up-to-date practices, medication efficacy, and patient outcomes. Aliya is an advocate for
improving patient’s ability to ambulate and improving their quality of care. Most importantly, she
is excited to develop genuine patient-provider relationships along the way!


Fun facts about Aliya include she was previously a player for the Gulf Coast Rangers semi-pro
soccer team out of Daphne, AL. She loves to spend time with her family on the weekends while
they go on walks, cook, and play a wide array of games. She also enjoys going out on the boat
with her husband and daughter and fishing in Mobile Bay.

Jasmine Corpuz is a Board Certified Physician Assistant from Pensacola, FL. She earned a
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of West Florida. During this time,
she served in leadership and mentorship roles within STEM programs and actively participated
in community service, including volunteering and performing music in local nursing homes.
Jasmine also volunteered in vascular surgery, where she gained hands-on clinical experience
that further inspired her path to becoming a Physician Assistant.


After graduating magna cum laude, Jasmine was accepted into University of South Alabama’s
Physician Assistant Studies program, where she developed a strong foundation in medicine
through rigorous didactic and clinical training. Jasmine contributed to scholarly work, including a
capstone research project that was recognized with a “Best Capstone” award, as well as the
publication of a children’s book on diabetes education. She was also a member of AHEC
Scholars, which strengthened her commitment to community-based, underserved patient care.
Through clinical rotations in primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and
psychiatry, she developed a strong passion for enhancing patient outcomes.


Jasmine is excited to grow in her career with the United Spine and Pain team. She is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate care, with a focus on staying up to date with advances in pain management. She strives to build meaningful patient-provider relationships.


Outside of medicine, Jasmine enjoys quality time with family and friends, along with baking,
running, and playing the piano. She is actively involved in her community through her church
choir and local events, including cultural gallery nights. As a first-generation Asian graduate and
the oldest of five siblings, Jasmine values hard work, resilience, and meaningful connection.
She is honored to continue her journey in supporting patients and helping them improve their
quality of life!

Savannah Pate is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant and graduate of the PA program at the
University of South Alabama. Before pursuing her master’s degree, Savannah received her
bachelor’s in biology from UAB. Savannah’s original passion for healthcare was inspired by her
mother who has been a nurse for almost 30 years. Before graduate school, she even got to
work alongside her as a nursing assistant providing care for post-op patients. This is where her
interest in pain management and control was sparked.


As a PA, she has practiced in urgent care medicine for 2 years. She is excited to grow her career
and transition into pain management at United Spine and Pain. An important part of being a
provider for Savannah is building trusting relationships with her patients. Her goal is to always
stay up to date on the most efficient practices and ensure the most beneficial outcome for
patients.


Originally from the small town of Corner, AL, she moved to Balwin County in 2022 where she
lives with her husband and their beloved dog Bennie. She enjoys spending as much time with
family and friends as she can, relaxing on the beach, and traveling. Savannah looks forward to
helping and supporting patients as they look to achieve their best quality of life!

Jamie was born in New Jersey where she worked in emergency medical services providing 911
care to the community. She began her nursing career by earning her Associate Degree in
Nursing from Gloucester County College. She worked in emergency medicine while earning her
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Wilmington University. After spending 8 years as a local
emergency nurse, Jamie pursued her love of travel and became a travel nurse, working in many
states all over the country for the next 4 years. She has also worked in the perioperative and
postoperative acute care and outpatient settings as an RN.


Jamie then began working as an emergency nurse in Philadelphia while advancing her
education by earning a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification
through LaSalle University. After finishing her degree, she moved to beautiful South Alabama
with her family.


Jamie is excited to become part of the pain management team under the training of Drs.
Ramsook and Thorn. She has a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Through caring with patients living with acute and chronic pain, she is driven to help improve their
comfort, function, and overall quality of life. She is dedicated to continuing her education and
staying current with the latest research and evidence-based practices to provide safe, effective,
and up-to-date pain management care.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and spending time
on the water, exploring new places, and listening to live music. She looks forward to helping
patients achieve the best quality of life as possible so they can enjoy the things they love to do
as well!

Payal graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University in 2012 then pursued her Masters in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from South University in 2018. 

 

During her nursing career she worked in the Medical-Surgical/Rehab and Intensive care unit where she provided care to a wide-range of patients.  Due to this exposure, she was in awe of treating and understanding the complexities and differences with everyone's individual health.  This further motivated her advance her career as a Nurse Practitioner. 

 

As a Nurse Practitioner, she practiced in the Primary Care setting for over 6 years.  She then transitioned her focus to Pain Management with the goal of improving the over-all well being of each patient by using contemporary, evidenced based, and holistic approach to medicine.  She values the importance of learning every day through research and keeping up to date with the newest articles ad medical breakthroughs.  She loves partnering with patients and families to educate them in health and well-being so they can live their best lives! 

 

Payal stays healthy and happy by sharing laughs with her loved ones, exploring new places, enjoying music, exploring new recipes, reading, and taking walks.
