Matthew’s fascination with the medical field began when he worked as a lifeguard on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Years later he pursued that love by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services at the University of South Alabama. While there he was active in the education of fellow EMS students as both a mentor and as an ACLS and BLS instructor. While he was obtaining his bachelor's degree he also worked in pre-hospital emergency medicine as a paramedic in Mobile, Alabama for several years.

Matthew then completed his Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. After graduating in 2013, he first practiced in family medicine and with the geriatric population in short and long term health facilities. Following this he found his true passion in the medical field in the area of Pain Management, which he has worked in for several years. He is a member of the AAPA and American Society of Pain and Neuroscience.
